Unvented Systems Installations
Unvented Hot Water Systems:
Unvented hot water storage systems save space in the loft when compared to traditional systems and can supply large volumes of hot water on demand. One of the key benefits is that the hot water supply is delivered at mains pressure right across the house. However because of the possible dangers associated with water stored in a sealed vessel under pressure and at high temperature, it is important to have the system serviced once a year. This service will amongst other things test the functionality of the safely valves that operate in the event of a fault.
Most manufacturers recommend an annual service. Zeal Plumbing & Heating engineers, will provide a service which consists of:
- Removing and cleaning the filter/strainer.
- Checking the integrity of the cylinder - leaks, damage, etc.
- Checking the air charge in the expansion vessel and topping up if necessary.
- Resetting the internal expansion on systems with an internal expansion facility.
- Check that the expansion relief valve operates correctly.
- Check that the temperature and pressure relief valve operates correctly.
- Check the discharge pipes for blockages.
- Check controls and motorised valves for correct temperature settings and operation.
- Check and renew sacrificial anodes were necessary.
- Check, descale or renew heat exchangers were necessary.
- Check downstream water pressure.
- Check water flow rate and pressure at fittings.
- Clean flow diffusers on taps.
